Are you in-line?

When comparing your files, does your differ give you information about the differences within the lines?

If not you are problably losing much of your time trying to guess what changed when one or more lines are replaced. ECMerge gave that information from the first version.

OK but what happens if you are in very long lines? what if there are many differences? OK up to now, ECMerge was not so good on that particular point. You could move only from line-level change to another.

Things change however in good :) The big news is that we did it with scripting so all the users from 2.1 (2.1 users need the free 2.1.83 build) as well as 2.2 will profit of this new feature: in-line moves. We designed (hopefully) beautiful buttons for them.

You just have to place the files out of the zip in your ECMerge/macros application directory. You can get it in Macro directory in Yahoo (the file is inline-moves-???.zip).

OK now you have the features, if you’d like comments about the macro itself and all the scripting you can do in ECMerge it’s time to put comments on that post :)

I hope you had a happy thanks giving (for those who celebrate it)
Armel
